Kuami Eugene's "Canopy" has been unequivocally declared by Kwame Yogot to be "not my song," refuting all presumptions and claims.
On Thursday, April 4, 2024, he disclosed this to Nana Romeo on Ayekoo Ayekoo on Accra 100.5 FM.
The rapper claimed, "I didn't say the song was mine when I made the social media post." "I'm not sure exactly what led folks to believe that I wrote the song.
According to Kwame Yogot, he has "many unreleased songs including the Canopy song and others" with Kuami Eugene.
"Though in certain of our joint ventures, I function as the host and Kuami as the guest, the Canopy song was written specifically for Kuami, and I had a guest rap performance on it," the man explained.
As per Yogot's statement, the original Canopy song featuring his verse was intended to be included on the recently published album "Love & Chaos" by Kuami Eugene, but it was left out.
When asked why he posted a video on social media in which he claimed that producer and singer-songwriter Kuami Eugene had stolen the Canopy from him, Kwame Yogot said, "It's my platform and I was mentioned in the video."
The rapper further claimed that, "most of the time," he does not post on Facebook, creating the appearance that the contentious video was released by someone else.
