OUR PRIME RESPONSIBILITY IS TO EDUCATE TO PREVENT DISASTER - MUNICIPAL DEPUTY NADMO DIRECTOR - NSAWAM ADOAGYIRI

The Municipal Deputy NADMO director for the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality Mr Appiah Peter has said their Prime responsibility is to educate the general public to prevent excess disasters.


Speaking in an exclusive interview with Osabarima Kwaku Acqua on Fawe Fm Monsom political show, Mr Appiah said disaster occurs unexpectedly. Though the metrological agencies has sophisticated machines but sometimes predict and fail all in the results of human activities.


He said at first, those who build doesn't cement or lay tiles on the floor so the rain submerge in the ground but currently these activities gathers the running water into the streams and causes flooding. 


Also, food vendors used to wrap foods in leaves which can easily be consumed by ruminants after deposited but now has changed to rubber pack which block water passage easily after deposited leading to flooding.


Mr Emmanuel Ahorsu - Relief and Logistics Manager / Nsawam



The Relief and logistics manager Mr Emmanuel Ahorsu added to the quota that, our behaviors causes the excess rate of flooding like throwing waste materials into water bodies.



Drawing the curtains down, he said if we desist from such behavior it will help us control disasters.
