Ghana moves up to 59th place in the most recent FIFA June ranking

According to the most recent FIFA Rankings, which were released on Thursday, June 29, 2023, the Black Stars have moved up one spot to 59th.

Their outstanding record under Chris Hughton is responsible for the result. The Black Stars have only participated in one game since the most recent ranking was announced on April 6, 2023, and that was a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier versus Madagascar.

After maintaining their control throughout, the club was able to gather important points from the goalless match. It was sufficient to propel them up to 59th position even though the West Africans considered it an undesirable outcome.

Ghana is still outside the top 10 in Africa, ranking 11th behind the top five countries on the continent—Morocco, Senegal, Algeria, Tunisia, and Egypt.

The remaining 10 places in Africa are occupied by Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali, Ivory Coast, and Cameroon.

World Cup winners Following Argentina's continued ascent to the top of the world rankings, Australia and Indonesia were soundly defeated during the international break by France and Brazil, respectively.

In an incredible accomplishment, Croatia has surpassed the Netherlands, while England has managed to jump ahead of Belgium to claim fourth place. Spain, Portugal, and Italy round out the top ten.
