The Ghanaian actress claimed in her book "I Am Not Yvonne Nelson" that the incident occurred in 2010 and the man in issue was a rapper from Tema. She identified the rapper in question as Michael Owusu Addo, better known by his stage name Sarkodie, a multi-award-winning Ghanaian singer who is currently considered an icon.

"As a sexually active young lady who misses her monthly flow, I had gone for a pregnancy test to confirm what becomes the most obvious conclusion. Karen was with me. Additionally, I lacked the strength to open the test result when it was ready. She did, announcing the decision.

"Charlie, it dey there!" she exclaimed.

"On a typical day, I would have laughed aloud, which would have started a series of cheerful discussions and jokes. However, this was no trivial issue. It was a somber fact that had the power to completely upend my universe. I called the man whose powerful seed had sprung in me, and told him I wasn't the only one to blame for the state of affairs. Michael Owusu Addo, better known by his stage name Sarkodie, is a well-known musician from Ghana.

Sarkodie was an aspiring musician who had the capacity to rise to prominence both in Ghana and beyond. The future, though, didn't seem certain at the moment, and it wasn't clear how he would find his way through the maze of existence. Achievement was not assured. He was not prepared to take on a load when his mother was carrying him because he was still living with her.
"I wouldn't characterize the friendship that had formed between us as serious. I found myself drawn to those in the music business. I used to use music as a method to escape from all the bad things that life had to throw at me. I thought his talent was good. Conversation flowed and we grew intimate. Parts of the book said, "Closer."
The actress tried to abort the baby by taking some mixtures from a colleague, but to her dismay, the material could not function as a test proved she was still pregnant, as detailed in chapter 8 of her memoir, which was released on Sunday, June 18, 2023.
Because she is fatherless and did not plan to give birth to a kid whose father had failed to accept responsibility, she made the decision to terminate the child.

"My own life was the first thing to hit me when he refused to continue the pregnancy. I had been raised without a father figure. I was frequently reminded of how I had been carried by error.

"I continued to ponder whether the man I was named after was actually my father. How could I bring another human into this world to live like me, someone whose father would turn away from him or her in the same way that Mr. Nelson had turned me away? In her autobiography, Yvonne Nelson wrote, "If there was a way to spare someone else the trauma I was dealing with, why would I reject that option, especially when I was not."
She also mentioned that she was finally able to terminate the pregnancy, but she considered it "one of the most regrettable mistakes in my life." I would retain the clock if it could be turned back in time to my younger self."

In the gripping and dramatic story "I Am Not Yvonne Nelson," a young woman sets out to discover who she is and discovers that she has been living under a false identity.
